10. Super Mario Galaxy
Based on Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy takes the best platformer series into space as Mario races to find power stars in order to save Princess Peach from the evil King Bowser. Super Mario Galaxy does a great job of translating the controls to the Wii and creating a challenging game with interesting puzzles.
9. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
What do you get when you take a great story-filled first person shooter set in World War II, and zap it into modern times, all while putting the multiplayer steroids? One of the best sequels of all time. With great cinematic scenes, the single player campaign is full of thrills, but its the multiplayer action that makes Call of Duty IV shine. Call of Duty 4 brings the successful franchise a huge step forward.
8. Super Smash Bros. Melee
This sequel to the Nintendo 64′s Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros. Melee expanded the awsome 64 game. With new unlockable characters and a smashing soundtrack, Super Smash Bros. Melee delivered everything that fanboys and casuals alike could have ever wanted
8. Mortal Kombat II
With Mortal Kombat II, Midway improved everything that worked in the original. More combatants were welcome addtions to the battle. New moves and backgrounds, along with fatalities.
7. Elder Scrools IV: Oblivion
Oblivion set new role-playing standards on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game lets you choose which route you take as you attempt to thwart the efforts of a fanatical cult, dead-set on opening a gate into Oblivion and unleashing hell. You could do whatever you want, from hacking and slashing soldiers to hunting deer.
5. Gears of War 2
Marcus, Dom, and Cole Train star in this killer sequel, once again fighting the Locust Horde. The game features a terrific single-player campaign, along with improved multiplayer options. Its best new feature, however, is Horde Mode. It pits a team of soldiers against endless waves of monsters, forcing them to work together to stay alive.
4. Resident Evil 4 (Capcom)
Resident Evil 4 arrived and shocked the world with enhanced graphics, revamped gameplay, deep storyline and terrific boss battles.
3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Link’s jump into 3-D simply couldn’t have gone any better. The Ocarina of Time became one of the hottest selling games for Nintendo 64. There’s hours worth of gameplay , whether you’re shooting enemies with your slingshot or slashing them with your sword.
2. Grand Theft Auto III
Rockstar Games took the free-roaming gameplay the series had become known for and enhanced it significantly, adding terrific 3-D visuals. Over the course of the game, you’ll actually develop feelings for these people.
1. Fallout 3
Once it was heard that Bethesda took over the development of Fallout 3, everyone thought that it was going to be an ‘Oblivion with Guns’, which is not a bad thing. However, Bethesda took this concept and built on it, making it greater than anyone could have hoped for, with a karma system, and an amazing rendering of the Capital Wasteland.
